Sophos Fusion is presented as an evolution of the Sophos Central platform, rebuilt on an open architecture and incorporating the Taegis analytics engine. The platform emphasizes a unified data layer, synchronized responses across security controls, AI-driven investigation and response within defined parameters, and intelligence that compounds across its customer base. Sophos reports its own operations leverage AI to resolve 52% of cases without human intervention, with an average automated response time of 89 seconds. The platform spans various security functions, including XDR, SIEM, and identity threat detection, while supporting over 500 third-party integrations. This launch comes as the security operations market is projected to double by 2029. Fresh research from Sophos indicates that compromised identities are now the primary vector for 79% of ransomware attacks, surpassing exploited vulnerabilities, with malicious email and phishing also significant entry points. Despite the prevalence of multifactor authentication, it was enabled in 97% of breaches involving stolen credentials, suggesting implementation gaps. Encryption is increasing, affecting 56% of attacks, and smaller organizations remain more vulnerable, disrupting only 34% of attacks before data encryption or extortion.
