pydicom pynetdicom Library

A critical path traversal vulnerability (CVE-2026-56445, CVSS 9.1) exists in the pynetdicom library where the qrscp application's C-STORE handler unsafely uses attacker-supplied DICOM dataset fields in `os.path.join()`, allowing unauthenticated remote file writes to arbitrary paths. Affected versions are pynetdicom v1.0.0 through v3.0.3. The maintainer has not provided a vendor fix; users should monitor the project's GitHub page for updates and implement network segmentation and firewall controls to restrict access to affected systems.
